Alisha just spoke with Congressman John Garamendi's office, who in turn just spoke with the State Department in Washington D.C. Per the State Department, having people call the State Department does take time and attention away from the people working on the situation. A better, and equally direct way to express our concern, is for us to mount a Facebook campaign on the "U.S. Department of State: Consular Affairs" Facebook page, urging them to please keep the search and rescue efforts going because the waters are warm, we think those missing are waiting to be found, and we have not given up hope.
