Current events

In the early hours of July 3 around 2am the Fishing Boat "The Erik" capsized 300 miles south of San Felipe off Mexico's Baja Coast.  So far out of the 44 on board all except 7 are accounted for or rescued along the coast as far down as Bahia de Los Angeles. The remaining 7 include our father Don Lee. In addition to our father, 6 others who are close family friends are also missing. We have been assured by the American Consulate in Mexico and the governor of Mexico that the search for them will continue until Friday 2am. It is imperative that we make the best use of time that has been given to us. Currently the Coast Guard and Mexican Navy are leading the search. In addition a group of the men rescued from the accident have stayed behind and putting aside their recent experience to help search the waters and coastline. With 4 days remaining we need all the help we can get. In addition to the waters and islands south of San Felipe we need  help searching the areas of  Along San Felipe and Bahia de Los Angeles, both in the water and on land. The land areas where some of the men were rescued are very rural and without easy access to communication sources. This area is very popular with fishing excursions and any help we could get from them as well as residents would be of great benefit to the search. In addition please repost this on any fishing sites or tourist sites to spread the awareness of this rescue effort. Please do not react to quickly to reports that rescue effort has or is going to change to a recovery effort. We have been assured that we are still well within the window of survivability in these circumstances. We must maintain hope!

In addition to this blog page we have started a twitter account and set up a gmail account for any info or tips.
